Mount Saint Michaels History
Mount St Michaels was founded by the sisters of charity. The sisters of charity arrived at New South Wales in 1838 and then the sisters decided to start up a catholic school in Queensland for all of the women. The school was originally named Grantuly in 1925 and then in 1941 the school was then named Mt St Michaels. MSM was named after the archangel Michael. The school brought the women hope during the World War II. Still today Mount St Michaels is still up and running, building new buildings, teaching young girls and still in honour of the sisters of charity.
