Glenlyon House

The Glenlyon house was built in 1876 which is a bit over 140 years old and is still standing this very day. Glenlyon house is one of the first ever houses built in the Enoggera creek area, Ashgrove. The house was made out of local clay and was built for a man named Alexander Stewart which was also the man
who planned out what this house must look like. Alexander Stewart was born in Scotland and when he died in 1918 his house, Glenlyon was named after the place he was born and grew up in at Scotland.  Then the Marist Fathers who came from New Zealand rented the Glenlyon house in 1927.
Three years later the Marist Fathers ended up buying the house.

This house is very significant by how old and big it is. The other amazing thing is that this house, over 140years is still standing in Ashgrove today.
